Network Engineer (A*CRC)
Responsibilities:
The A*STAR Computational Resource Centre (A*CRC) is one of the largest high performance computing facilities in the region, with an aggregate computational power equivalent to that of a few thousand servers. Working in the Centre, your main duties will include the administration of these leading-edge high performance computing resources as well as providing direct support to end-users. As we are constantly pushing the boundaries of computing, you will also have frequent opportunities to work with leading edge technologies, often before they reach the general IT community.
Requirements:
A Master/Bachelor Degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or equivalent
3 to 5 years extensive experience in IT Networking
Experience in network security and development of IT Technical Architecture
Mature team player with strong passion in information technology
Ability to gather data, to compile information, and to prepare reports using existing tools
Fresh graduates who are competent are welcome to apply for an entry-level position
Working knowledge in Linux, project management and data centre operations would be an advantage

Senior HPC Specialist (1 Position available)
Senior HPC Specialist Position 1:
- Optimisation and performance tuning of scientific and technical codes on parallel architectures and specialized hardware,
- Algorithmic development,memory and communication strategies for common scientific problems,
- User education in porting the codes to massively parallel system,performance diagnostics,optimization,tuning and parallel software languages and tools,
- Writing of internal user guides and course material,
- Presentation of results at seminars and meetings.
Requirements
- At least Bachelor's with Honours degree in Applied or Numerical Mathematics,Physics,Biology,Bioinformatics, Computer or Computional Engineering/Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent. PhD degree holders are welcome to apply.
- Expert knowledge of Linux,FORTRAN and C/C ++,
- Knowledge and demonstrated experience of parallel computing software tools and methodologies (i.e MPI,OpenMP)
- Common compilers,
- Understanding and knowledge of mathematical libraries,
- HPC performance parameters, system level and program level optimisation, load and load balancing, scheduling and schedulers (Platform LSF and SLURM knowledge - an advantage)
- Parallel Debuggers,
- Optimisation concepts and optimisation tools,
- GPU Programming,
- HPC benchmarking,
- Scientific or engineering computing methodologies (linear algebra,deterministic,stochastic,quantum mechanics or computational chemistry,CFD,structuarl engineering,genomics,bioinformatics or others).

Network Engineer (2 Positions available)
Network Engineer Position 1:
- Responsible for planning, installation, configuration and administration of Network Infrastructure.
- Required to assist in project planning and executions, perform network upgrades and migrations
- Required to work with vendors to deliver the project scope and meeting project deadlines
- Provide network support to end users, manage incidents, problems and change requests
- Proactive monitoring of network performance, ensuring high network availability and smooth operation
- Responsible for keeping network operations documents and SOPs up-to-date
- Manage daily Data Centre and Network operations
Requirements
- A Master/Bachelor Degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or equivalent
- Must be CCNA certified, CCNP preferred
- Minimum 3 years of substantial experience in Network Engineer/Architecture position with an Internet service provider or enterprise level network.
- Excellent knowledge in Network technologies (Structured Cabling, WAN, LAN, VPN, Network Security, Wireless)
- Hands on experience in implementing, administering and troubleshooting network infrastructure devices, including routers, switches, network firewall, IPS, SIEM, vulnerability assessment and monitoring tools
- Experience in IPv6, Data Centre operation an advantage
- Familiar with Linux environment, security concepts, project management and ITIL processes
- Possesses strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Independent mature team player with initiative, positive attitude and strong passion in networking technologies
- Ability to perform standby duties

- Develop and implement designs, standards and policies across A*STAR's High Performance network infrastructure.
- Ensure continued smooth operation of the global network infrastructure focusing on operational reliability and final point of escalation for the network.
- Lead and participate on projects that affect the global network, meeting massive scaling, reliability, and performance challenges.
- Work on improving processes and automation for networking infrastructure and supporting systems
- R&D on new network and security technologies
- Perform evaluation, proof of concept and provide recommendations
- Required to write network related technical specifications for tenders
- Manage daily Data Centre and Network operations
Requirements
- A Master/Bachelor Degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or equivalent
- Min. 3 years of experience in Networking technologies (Structured Cabling, WAN, LAN, VPN, Network Security, Wireless).
- Experience in installing and commissioning of optical/WDM networks, testing and troubleshooting transport technologies
- Experience in either network deployment, IP networking or optical experience, or a combination of them.
- Solid knowledge of IP fundamentals including IP addressing and VLSM, VLAN, and routing configuration.
- Excellent knowledge and troubleshooting ability of TCP/IP, routing (BGP, IGPs and MPLS ) and link layer protocols
- Experience in implementing high speed network infrastructure of 40Gbps or 100Gbps, IPv6, Openflow, SDN and other leading networking technologies
- Strong experience working in a Unix/Linux environment at systems administrator level and ability to analyze security logs and traffic pattern preferred
- Experience in developing tools and scripts to manage networks and automate procedures using languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript or C++ will be an advantage.
