NAG Library

NAG Numerical Library for Fortran and C Languages
Description
The Numerical Algorithms Group (NAG) delivers trusted, high quality numerical computing software and high performance computing (HPC) services.
Fortran  (Mark22), Fortran for SMP (Mark 22) and C (Mark 9) numericla libraries are installed on the Fuji, Aurora dn Axle:

The key numerical and statistical capabilities of the libraries are shown below.

        Numerical facilities
  • Optimization, both Local and Global
  • Linear, quadratic, integer and nonlinear programming and least squares problems
  • Ordinary and partial differential equations, and mesh generation
  • Solution of dense, banded and sparse linear equations and eigenvalue problems
  • Solution of linear and nonlinear least squares problems
  • Curve and surface fitting and interpolation
  • Special functions
  • Numerical integration and integral equations
  • Roots of nonlinear equations (including polynomials)
  • Option Pricing Formulae
  • Wavelet Transforms
        Statistical facilities
  • Random number generation
  • Simple calculations on statistical data
  • Correlation and regression analysis
  • Multivariate methods
  • Analysis of variance and contingency table analysis
  • Time series analysis
  • Nonparametric statistics

License Agreement and Citation Format
License Agreement

A*STAR Computational Resource Center has obtained a National License for NAG software covering all academic and government research organizations in Singapore for all NAG Products. This proposal is a significant upgrade to the A*Star license fully licensing all academic and government research institutions in Singapore and covering three operating systems rather than just one.

Coverage of this National License
Numerical Libraries, Toolbox for MATLAB and Compiler
  • NAG Library for SMP & Multi-core
  • NAG C Library
  • NAG Fortran Library
  • NAG Toolbox for MATLAB
  • NAG Fortran Compiler
To over the following operating systems (32 bit and 64 bit)
  • Linux
  • Windows
  • Mac

Software Deployment and Users
  • Users from
    • Defined as as individuals from “any academic and government research organizations in Singapore” including the organizations listed below.
      • A*STAR BioMedical Research Institutes
      • A*STAR Science and Research Institutes
      • National University of Singapore (NUS)
      • Nanyang Technological University (NTU)
      • Singapore Management University (SMU)
      • Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD)
      • National Environment Agency (NEA) of Singapore
      • DUKE-NUS
      • Campus for Research Excellence and Technological Enterprise (CREATE)
  • Deployment
    • Any hardware owned or leased hardware by the above mentioned institutions
    • All users (staff, students and also visiting academics) would also be allowed to use and install NAG on personal machines for academic and research (i.e. non-commercial) related work
